FLORIAN RICHTER

Florian started to play the violin in the Leipzig music conservatory with Prof. Klaus Hertel.

In 2000 he switched to viola and to Weimar where he went to school at the Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere and studied with Prof. Erich Krüger.

In 2007 he was awarded a scholarship by the Jütting Stiftung.

Florian Richter's studies with Prof. Ditte Leser and Prof. Erich Krüger in Weimar were finalized with his Konzertexamen (with honors) in 2014.

His musical perspective has been colored by chambermusic classes and viola masterclasses with Prof. Alfred Lipka, Prof. Dietmar Hallmann, Prof. Hartmut Rhode and Prof. Norbert Brainin amongst others.

As a soloist Florian has played with conductors like Johannes Klumpp, Helmuth Rilling, Stefan Solyom, Michael Sanderling and Marek Janowski.

After two years of being principal violist in Staatskapelle Weimar, Richter has filled the same position with Staatsorchester Stuttgart since 2012.

He also teaches in Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere, passing on what he has learned, also in that very institution, to young viola students.
