Being a quintet with our special set of instruments, the ensemble 4.1 is not swimming in oceans of original repertoire. We have been tackling this situation in two ways.

One, we constantly dig up unknown pieces that lie in libraries all over the world. Like that we have brought to stages lovely forgotten repertoire from Beethoven's time, works by friends of Brahms that were lost in the master's shadow, and yet neglected works from the early 20th century.

Two, we play contemporary music of various origins, also encouraging composers to write for us.

Lillenorge fits so beautifully for us because it's all about looking for fresh sounds in unexpected ways and creating a new experience in enjoying music.
